Review - Claiming His One-Night Baby (Bound to a Billionaire #2) by Michelle Smart
I'm not sure if Michelle Smart has a fan group, but I would happily become one of her 'Smarties', 'Smarty Pants?'. I seem unable to resist anything this author writes, so here I am with a review of Claiming His One-Night Baby.

My Review
From meeting Natasha Pellegrini in the first book in the series I knew she had a story to tell. I sensed that she wasn't only saddened by grief and that certainly is the case when Claiming His One-Night Baby begins with the funeral of her husband, Pieta.
Matteo Manaserro has tried to avoid being around Natasha. She broke his heart by marrying his cousin after Matteo had foolishly thought Natasha felt the same way about him. So it's as much of a shock to Natasha as it is to Matteo that he ends up at her door. Then like an explosion in a science lab, the author adds a blast of chemistry and the passion that was once restrained all those years ago is unleashed and the pair are utterly consumed by withheld emotion.
The morning after, Matteo is stricken with regret. He was right to never trust Natasha, after all how could she sleep with him when Pieta had only just been buried? Except, unknowingly to Matteo, that one night with him was something she'd longed for. Her life with Pieta wasn't the happy marriage everyone thought it to be and she'd sacrificed so much of her life.
When Matteo finds out their one night together lead to a pregnancy, he is dubious about Natasha's insistence that the baby is his. Natasha knows there is no doubt. After all, she was a virgin until then.
There were times I struggled to like Matteo, even though his back story is an emotional one. He clearly needed to be loved. But the way he reacted to Natasha at times, especially when the truth comes out, made me want to put him on the naughty step. And I felt that Natasha's acceptance of her engagement and marriage to Pieta a bit unbelievable, especially because of her love for Matteo. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in the story.
Once more I was gripped by this series. You could easily read each one as a standalone, but honestly, why would you want to? Read them all and feel the emotion. Michelle Smart writes chemistry that heats up every page. Can't wait to read more from her!
